Description
The blue tang is identified by its bright blue coloring, oval body and yellow, flag-shaped tail. Its pectoral fins are also yellow. Adults have a narrow line of dark blue along their dorsal fin that curves back at the tail. Blue Tang live in the Pacific Ocean, but they are also found in the Indian Ocean, from East Africa to Micronesia. These fish are very important to the life cycle of the coral reef as they eat excess algae, which prevents the coral from suffocating. Each miniature measures approximately 1″ in length.
